More ‘brave shavers’ needed for Bluey Day

JOHN, B.C. — As the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation’s Bluey Day approaches, they still need more participants to ‘be brave and shave.’So far, 22 people have already registered to go bald for charity, but many more participants are needed in order to reach the goal of 50.Brave participants will shave their heads will spend the next month collecting donations from family, friends and businesses in anticipation of the big day, on May 28 at the BC Ambulance Building.- Advertisement -Ultimately, the Foundation is hoping to raise $100,000 from the event to buy cancer diagnostic and treatment equipment at the Fort St. John Hospital. All donations will go into a fund that will help them respond to immediate equipment needs — specifically relating to cancer treatment and diagnosis.In the past, events like Bluey Day have helped them buy a specialized treatment chair, hysteroscope, gastroscope, and a software upgrade for the CT scanner.At the event this year, it will be a family-filled day of fun with a bounce house, face painting, and burgers from Mr. Mikes.Advertisement To find out more information about signing up as a participants, those interested can call 250-261-7563, and come to the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation in the hospital lobby in person to register.last_img read more
