first_imgFederally-insured credit unions saw share growth of 8.3 percent, year over year, during the first quarter of 2017 as membership also grew to 108 million, according to call report data released Monday by the NCUA.The NCUA’s 1Q data shows credit union membership growth of 4.2 percent versus a year ago; and loan growth of 10.6 percent, year over year.NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger said the first-quarter 2017 call report data shows how much credit union members value their institutions.“The figures show that credit unions’ consistent commitment to providing excellent products and member service is being recognized by members,” said Berger. “Credit unions are maintaining healthy growth by focusing on their members’ needs and concerns.
