first_imgDay 12 – Friday October 20Not to be deterred, we headed over to the world renowned and historic Sydney Cricket Ground for our panoramic team photo. These team photos are always a favourite for everyone and it is great privilege to still be allowed onto the turf as not many teams get the opportunity.Straight from the SCG it was off to Erskineville Oval, home of the junior rep teams of the South Sydney Rabbitohs and venue of Sunday’s game, for today’s training session. The focus was to recap some of the defensive techniques and sharpen up on set ruck plays. The session went well despite the blustery and wet conditions. The weather certainly was Wet ‘n’ Wild by the time we arrived at the famous water park. Several staff members declared themselves unavailable due to various injuries and illnesses, and soon after the lads got off the bus raring to go, much to their disappointment the conditions were declared too wild. The attraction was subsequently closed for “safety reasons”, or as we prefer to call it “soft Aussie syndrome”.We headed back to base for an afternoon of in-house entertainment and Shaun Ryan led the show with a trick that caught out a few.Tom Nisbet, Matty Foster and Reece Jackson were the winners at cards, grabbing one of the much sought after chocolate Tim Tam biscuits, and Kie Siyani proved to be the domino champion.A few of the boys – Sam Royle, Joe Sharratt, Sean Croston and Brandon Scully – took the opportunity to keep up to date with their school work and nearly all of the lads were able to complete their video review session with Derek Traynor, looking at the good and the bad from Wednesdays game.Another great evening meal at local steakhouse Rashays was to follow, before the first kangaroo court of the tour was completed. With every group having completing the early morning chore of making breakfast for everyone else, it’s now down to a court session to determine who has the duty tomorrow. In front of the Traynor/Kilshaw jury and judge Leonard were Tom Nisbet and Ryan Horne.Nisbet was charged with failing to clean up washing powder after tipping it onto the floor and Horne’s failure to keep his bedside living space tidy also had him in the dock. Both of the accused were found guilty and sentenced to unite to prepare breakfast in the morning.last_img
